Borgmann is the steadfast companion in this narrow space between intoxication, delusion, and truth where Hoosen plays the generous host. Thus, it was natural that he should be the one to design the upcoming edition of the premium herbal liqueur. If one were to ask Hoosen, the whole affair unfolded something like this: “The idea to design the new edition bottle for Borgmann arose during my early youth, during a year abroad that I spent in Northern Germany. I worked for some time at the Beck’s brewery as a taste tester, which never took away my love for schnapps. Through the constant repetition of the word ‘schnapps,’ I entered a kind of meditative trance state for several hours every day. When Borgmann proposed the bottle design, this state immediately resurfaced. So, within just one night — in the frenzy of words and the consumption of several liters of the drink being promoted — the bottle design and various accompanying images emerged.
